Photograph Gallery Stage 26 Hillfoot to Newton

Photograph Gallery Stage 26 Hillfoot to Newton, Saturday 18th June 2011

The Story:

Nearly 30 miles through the city of Glasgow over the weekend. I made the passage by utilising the Kelvin Walkway, city streets and Clyde Walkway. Some nice sections, some not so nice. Some nice buildings passed, some not so nice. The walkways were poorly maintained, lots of graffiti and a good few detours had to be made because of closed sections, new building sites on the official route, etc. How were they allowed to happen? Lots of people passed, few smiling faces, many bemused looks at a man hiking through a city with walking poles, some intimidating stares; I just kept going. Glad to be through it. Enough said, I am in countryside again tomorrow.
